How can you tell if a yeast infection is cured?

I was taking an oral rinse antibiotic after having my wisdom teeth removed a month ago. My pee had been concentrated on and off during this time and then I got my period. After my period finished, I noticed that I was itching as if I had a yeast infection. I first started having symptoms over a week and half ago and I immediately started putting Vagisil Cream on it, taking AZO Yeast pills, and drinking cranberry juice to keep it from getting worse. I was told to stop taking the antibiotic and did so.

After about five days, I thought that I was getting ahead of it and it was getting better, but for the next two days it burned really, really bad. I think I may have overused the cream, but I’m not sure, and used the Vagisil wipes, which made it horribly worse. I started eating yogurt and kept up with the cranberry juice for a few days. I was able to get a prescription from my family doctor (I didn’t go see him) and started using it. He prescribed Nystatin cream, which I’ve been using for the past two days and it burns really bad when I use it. My vagina is really red and it burns and itches. I’m pretty sure it’s a bad rash, it’s peeling now, but is still really red toward the opening of my outer labia.

There are times when I itch and burn like crazy and every time I pee it gets irritated again, but then there are times when I feel like I might be getting better. My pee is still sometimes concentrated off and on, which makes it worse. I am still taking the AZO Yeast pills and drinking cranberry juice. Is the actual infection itself gone or is it still there? Is this even a yeast infection? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

I am going to see a doctor finally tomorrow to see what he thinks I should do.

That does not sound like a yeast infection, it sounds bacterial. A big way to tell the difference is the way your discharge smells. Fishy or no real smell = bacterial. Yeast infections, even if they don’t have the notorious huge amounts of cottage cheese discharge ALWAYS smell like yeast.
Get thee to a doctor and get a prescription. Bacterial vaginosis can not be cured with OTC stuff, can be serious if left untreated.
Treating a bacterial infection as a yeast infection makes the infection worse.
STOP taking the yeast treatment stuff until you’ve been looked at.

I had a BV infection for like 6 months. Kept thinking it was yeast because I didn’t know any better. It seemed to go away and feel normal for a week or so, then come back. Well, finally saw the doc (for my first prenatal exam, actually), he opens me up and says, "You have one nasty infection". Here I thought I’d finally cured my "yeast" infection as I had been feeling fine for a while at that point.

I think you should really go to the doctor tomorrow. DO NOT skip just because you feel better.

I’m not sure what it is
