I had unprotected sex with a girl who (i found out later) had a yeast infection. Now I’ve developed what seems to be jock itch, but after further research I believe it may be a Candida infection.
What can I do to remedy this fast and for good?

Jock itch can be caused by a candida infection…the same thing that causes a yeast infection in women. Many antifungal medications are available without prescription. They come in cream, liquid spray, ointment, and powder forms. Some people may develop an allergic reaction to the medication, so stop using them if your rash seems worse.
Tolnaftate (Tinactin, Aftate) and undecylenate (Cruex, Desenex) are well-known, effective medications. The powder form is also useful as a drying agent. These medications are not effective against candidal infections.

If these medications help, be sure to use them for 2-4 weeks to completely clear the infection.
Keeping the affected area clean and bone dry helps to clear the infection.
You may use the medications to prevent relapses as well.
You should have thought about that before having unprotected sex.

November 18th, 2009 at 4:51 amLol, I get a yeast infection all the time, they are sooooo hard to pass on, my partner never gets them, we have been having unprotected sex for years even when i have them he never gets them. Even if she did pass it onto you (very rare) all you need to do is go to the chemist and get some cream or a thrush tablet that gets rid of it in 24 hours.
If i were you, i wouldn’t be worrying about getting a yeast infection from her, you would be more likely to gert herpes from her then thrush.
