What does a yeast infection look like on a man and can a man get it taking antibiotics?
husband has a red and very itchy patch on his penis and he is taking Sufamethoxazole and Trimethoprim

November 17th, 2009 at 2:14 amAlmost anything is possible, but what is most likely is that he got it by having sex with a woman who has it…whether it is a yeast infection, Hepes, or whatever. Get yourself checked out by a good gynocologist.
November 17th, 2009 at 2:14 amIt is very possible after antibiotic therapy. You should try an OTC treatment for Jock Itch, like Blue Star. If this does not help, see a Dr. Yeast infections of the skin are harder to get rid of than those like women have internally.

Yes, he can get it from taking antibiotics. It is red and very itchy! Poor guy! Get some Lotrimin at the pharmacy department of Walmart (or any pharmacy). It’s over the counter and add a little bit of hydrocortisone 1% cream to it (you can get that over the counter too) and put it on the rash. He’ll feel better in no time! Have him use it 2-3 times a day. Good Luck!

The first two are of a yeast infection on the penis, and the last one is in the mouth. Have him go to the doctor, they can give him creams and medication to help. Good Luck.

November 17th, 2009 at 2:14 ammen can def. get yeast infections from taking antibiotics. I consider them the scourge, but you do what ya gotta do. Did his doctor tell him to add any probiotics to his diet while taking antibiotics? Doctors tend not to have a clue. So if I were you, I would run right out and get some asap. Also eat lots of garlic to kill the yeast, internally. rub plain yogurt on the penis. What I would do is slather on and then put on about 3 pairs of underwear and sleep with it on. You can boil the garlic cloves and they will be very palatable, a good combo is garlic and broccoli since both are yeast killers.
