    I am going to presume you mean a yeast infection *on the penis* – not so silly as you can actually get them other places.

    Yes, absolutely. If you are intact (that is, have a foreskin) it is somewhat easier, as that allows more moist "hidey places" for the yeast to prosper, but even circumcised men get them. Other people have pointed out that – just as for women – getting too hot and muggy "down there" with tight clothing and getting sweaty is provocative, as is taking antibiotics because they tend to kill the "good germs" that protect the area, leaving the yeast a wide open opportunity.

    And yes, Candida (yeast) is often sexually transmitted – but by no means is that the only way you get it. Actually, it is often in the bowel from contamination on food, and gets from there to the genitals. If it is a problem, you clearly need to treat both partners (that is, your partner and yourself) as you really do not know who had it first (much of the time it is there and you don’t realise it) and even if they do not know about it, the other person probably has it as well and will give it back as soon as you complete your own treatment.

    The other treatment, particularly if it is chronic (long-standing) is Fluconazole (Diflucan®/ Canesoral®) taken orally (albeit somewhat more expensive than other preparations) which tends to knock out the Candida not only on the genitals, but also in the bowel, removing the "reservoir" for re-infection. And it necessarily permeates the full skin thickness and all the "nooks and crannies" which is otherwise difficult with creams.

    Incidentally, I am presuming you mean yeast, specifically Candida commonly called "Thrush", rather than other fungal infections which are *not* yeast.

    yes men can get them just like women do
    go to a chemist to get some cream 4 the itching and you can get a tablet to kill the infection.
    yeast infection or thrush is caused by new yeast being introduced to the area, the bacteria multiply because the good bacteria are being killed off by infection, that’s it really.
    symptoms include itching, discharge, burning, pain during sex and when you pee.
    i must also add if you have a female partner you should not have sex until you have got rid of the infection or you will past it on to her and then you might get it again.

    Yes a man can get a yeast infection. The only difference is that it is called jock itch for a man. It is the same type of bacteria that causes athletes foot. Which by the way if you have athletes foot and put your undies on without putting your socks on first, it can transfer to your "jock" area. If you are unsure of this answer ask your pharamasist. One thing though, it is highly unlikely that you can "catch" a yeast infection from someone else. The conditions need to be right. Dark, warm, and moist are conditions that yeast thrives in.

    Yes of course a man can get a yeast infection, candida and thrust being well known sexually transmitted ones in men.
    The infection does not necessarily confine itself to the genital area either.
    All yeast infections are fungal-based and any fungal infection is technically a yeast infection, so you can include Athlete’s Foot and "Jock Itch" in the list as well, but these are normally caught through non-sexual activities.
    Treatment would be with anti-fungal creams.
    @Adrielle: D’oh!

    Yes, the mucous membrane of his urethra can harbor yeast. He is less likely to notice the symptoms than a woman is.

    Any illness gets worse if it continues without healing.
